On Tuesday the 12th February 2013 at around 9.15 pm a fifteen-year-old girl was walking home from work along Barries Road in Melton when she was followed by two men in a late-model white station wagon. One of the men then alighted from the motor vehicle and followed the teenage girl into Blackwood Reserve where he proceeded to sexually assault her. The teenage victim managed to escape and ran to the Melton Police Station. The male assailant was described as being of Southern European appearance and aged in his mid thirties.
