On Saturday the 22nd June 2013 just before 10.00 pm a twenty-five-year-old female alighted from the train at Ginifer Railway Station. She then proceeded to walk along Camara Street in St. Albans when she noticed a male of Asian appearance aged in his mid twenties following her. The female then began to run at which time the assailant punched her to her head knocking her to the ground where he attempted to remove her clothing and to kiss her. The victim fought with the assailant and was punched several times to the face before the assailant fled. The female victim sustained a broken eye socket and nose and was treated at the Footscray Hospital. Detectives from Footscray SOCIT are investigating the assault and are appealing for any witnesses.
