On the 14th March 2015 at around 2.30 pm an elderly Greek woman answered a knock on the front door of her home on Heidelberg Road in Alphington. Upon opening the front door she was greeted by a female identifying herself as local council representative and after a brief conversation the elderly victim let the woman inside. Once inside the female offender allowed a male accomplice inside who proceeded to assault the elderly victim throwing her to the ground and punching her to the face. The offenders then ransacked the house before fleeing. Detectives from Yarra CIU are investigating the assault and robbery and appealing for public assistance.
