On Tuesday the 20-05-14 at around 3.40 pm a male offender armed with a firearm and wearing a Fedora hat robbed the supermarket on Cramer Street in Preston. The offender approached a female staff member and pushed the gun into her stomach demanding cash. Other staff members then attempted to come to her aid at which time the offender pointed the gun at them. The offender then stole cash from one of the registers before fleeing on foot. Two staff members pursued the offender and last saw him running down a laneway behind a High Street shop near the intersection of Cramer Street. Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the robbery.
