On Saturday the 23rd February 2013 at around 1.45 am a twenty-five-year-old male Irish tourist was at a bar in Fitzroy when he was assaulted by two unknown male assailants with a weapon. The victim sustained a broken jaw and teeth and was treated at the St Vincent’s Hospital.

Assaults in the City of Yarra have surged 14% cent in 2012 to 861. There are seven hundred licensed premises in Yarra.
