On Sunday the 29th March 2014 at around 6.45 pm two elderly men were walking along Chapel Street in St Kilda when they were approached by two males aged in their twenties. An altercation arose during which the fifty-eight-year-old male was punched to the head causing him to fall to the ground. His male companion ran to a nearby service station and called the police and the assailants then fled running south along Chapel Street. The victim was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a serious condition. St Kilda police are seeking public assistance to help identifying the offenders.
