Assault charges increased 43% to 16,047.
Breaches of an Intervention Order increased by 42% to 9,632.
In around 35% of instances children are present during family violence.
The average assailant is a male aged between twenty to forty years.
In around 20% of family violence matters the victim is male and usually likely to be harmed by someone other than their immediate partner.
Female victims were twice as likely to have multiple injuries.
