On the 12-01-12 at around 10:00 pm two adult male offenders forced the male victim into a Holden Commodore as he was leaving a restaurant on North Road. The assailants then drove the victim around for up to eight hours during which they used his house keys to enter and ransack his home. The victim reported being forced to the ground and struck to the head with a metal object and kicked and punched before being released.
In Victoria in 2010 there were 114 reported victims of kidnapping/abduction. Such crimes are particularly traumatic as the victim is often subjected to feelings of terror and helplessness and fearing for their life which may result in significant psychological and emotional difficulties.
