On Wednesday the 09-19-15 at around midnight two Fawkner Highway Patrol Police officers intercepted a silver Holden Commodore sedan on Lara Way in Campbellfield after observing sparks coming from one of the wheels. Police officers spoke to the five male occupants aged in their twenties and as one of the police members returned to the police vehicle to retrieve a preliminary breath testing unit the group of males set upon the other police officer. The officer sustained multiple facial and leg injuries before the five men retreated inside a near-by building and were subsequently arrested short time later at the scene. A police officer remains in hospital with serious injuries.
