On the 14-10-12 at around 2.00 am a twenty-three-year-old taxi driver picked up two male passengers aged in their twenties in Coburg who soon threatened him with a knife demanding cash. The assailants stole $550.00 in cash plus the taxi driver’s credit cards. The taxi driver, who is also a student, described the ordeal as terrifying and said that he feared for his life and that he no longer wants to drive taxis. Police believe that the same assailants are responsible for another taxi robbery in Thomastown two days earlier.
