On the 18-11-12 at around 5.45 am a twenty-four-year-old female was attempting to flag down a taxi along Auburn Road in Hawthorn when a male, stating he was a security officer, stopped and gave her a lift. The male then drove for some forty minutes before parking in a driveway and sexually assaulting the victim. The assailant then dropped the victim of on Barkly Street in St Kilda. The assailant was described as being around thirty years of age and of Indian appearance. Detectives from the Box Hill Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are appealing for public assistance.
