The chief executive of the Royal Commission into child sexual abuse, Janette Dines, said today that the biggest obstacle to fulfilling her duty was to be able to make contact with victims. Ms Dines said that she was going to ‘hire someone 24/7 to work on Social Media’, such as Twitter and facebook, in an attempt to contact victims of sexual abuse and make them aware of the Royal Commission.  Ms Dines said that as of today, 09-07-13, over 5000 people have made contact. Ms Dines’ actions strongly support the value of Social Media in contacting victims of crime.
