On Sunday the 21-07-13 at around 7.20 pm a male assailant entered the Moonee Ponds Gaming Venue on Mount Alexander Road and handed the Cashier a note demanding money and indicating that he was armed. The Cashier alerted a work colleague and the assailant snatched back the note and fled.

Later that same night, at around 8.45 pm, the same assailant entered a Bottle Shop at a High Street Shopping Centre in Yarraville and selected alcohol before producing the same note to the Bottle Shop Attendant. The assailant was given some cash and then fled on foot through the car park

The assailant is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance with a dark-coloured beard.
