On Thursday 24th July 2014 at around 8.00 am a sixteen-year-old female was walking along Dudley Street in Caulfield when she realized that she was being followed by a Caucasian male aged in his twenties. As the teenager entered the car park of the Caulfield Recreation Reserve the assailant approached her from behind and placed both hands around her mouth. The young female victim struggled and they both fell to the ground where she was sexually assaulted. A passing jogger noticed the incident causing the assailant to flee. The teenage girl suffered only minor physical injuries.
It is believed that the same man earlier that day was seen looking in the female toilets at a Dandenong Road Shopping Centre in Caulfield before following a female from the shopping centre.
