On the 20-08-17 at around 10.00 pm the occupants of a Dandenong North home heard a bedroom window smash. The forty-five-year-old male occupant then opened the front door to investigate when he was confronted by three males and a female, all perceived to be of African appearance, and all wearing hooded tops and face coverings attempting to force their way in. The male together with this forty-four-year-old female companion were then involved in a struggle with the offenders eventually managing to force them out of the house. The male victim was struck over the head with an unknown object and the woman victim sustained an injury to her hand during the incident and both were taken to hospital for treatment. Three children, aged 11, 12, and 17-year-old were also present at the time.
