On Friday the 04-07-14 at around 4.40 am two male offenders forced entry into a home on Heather Road in Gisborne. The two occupants awoke to find the burglars in a nearby room wearing balaclavas and armed with handguns and bats. The forty-seven-year-old male occupant was assaulted and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is in a stable condition. The one other occupant, a forty-six-year-old female, was not injured. The offenders ransacked the home stealing several electrical items during the burglary before fleeing in a motor vehicle. Detectives from the Macedon Ranges CIU are investigating the aggravated burglary.
