North-West Metro Serious Crime Taskforce detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary in Ivanhoe on Monday the 5th August 2019
Detectives believe that at about 4.40am three unknown offenders approached the front door of a Malta Street residence armed with firearms .
The victim, a 60-year-old man, noticed the men approach and ran from the house.
He was not physically injured during the incident.
A blue Toyota registered 1GT3FH stolen from Lilydale the previous day was used during the offence.
The offenders gained entry to the premises and ransacked multiple rooms, before stealing a vehicle registered 1HF8OM which was later located in Oriel Road, Bellfiled at around 4:50am.
The blue Toyota remains outstanding and investigators have released images of a similar vehicle in the hope someone may recognise it.
