On the 29-09-18 a man armed with a knife attended a service station on Horsburgh Drive in Altona North just before 3.30am and fled with cigarettes.

The same offender was involved in an aggravated carjacking on Raleigh Street in Essendon about 11.15am that same morning.

Later that day, at around 1.00pm, the offender was involved in a second aggravated carjacking outside a fast food restaurant on the Western Highway in Burnside. The offender armed with a knife demanded the 62-year-old victim’s possessions before fleeing in his Holden Cruz.

At around 12.00 on the 30-10-18 police were called to reports of a man armed with a knife at an address on Lyall Street in Werribee. The man barricaded himself in the house and was arrested by members from the Critical Incident Response Team a short time later. A 40-year-old Melton man was arrested and taken to hospital under police guard for assessment.

The offender is expected to be charged with 17 offences, including two counts of aggravated carjacking, armed robbery, obtain property by deception, commit indictable offence while on bail, assault police and driving-related matters.
