On the 03-09-15 at around 4.00 am an eighty-two-year-old taxi driver arrived for work at the taxi depot on Lily Street in Coburg. He was immediately confronted by two male assailants who struck him with a piece of timber while demanding cash. The elderly victim handed over a small amount of money and the offenders then fled on foot. The two offenders were wearing dark clothing with hoodies covering their faces and spoke with Indian accents. Fawkner Embona detectives are investigating the assault and robbery of the elderly taxi driver in Coburg.
