On Friday the 03-05-13 police were investigating two attempted armed robberies at service stations in Chelsea and Mornington when at around 11.30 pm they came across an overturned motor vehicle on Racecourse Road. The four male occupants were then arrested in relation to nine armed robberies in the Bayside and Mornington Peninsula areas over the past week. The men, aged from eighteen to twenty-three years, were arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment.
The alleged armed robberies include:
30-04-13 at around 7.20 pm a service station in Baxter
30-04-13 at around 10.00 pm a service station on Moorooduc Highway
29-04-13 at around 7.30 pm a service station in Mornington
02-05-13 at around 12.20 am a convenience store on Highett Road Hampton
02-05-13 at around 12.48 am a service station on the corner of Park and Charman Roads
02-05-13 at around 12.53 am a service station on Balcombe Road Mentone
02-05-13 at around 10.08 pm a service station at the corner of Nepean Highway and Warrigal Road Mentone
02-05-13 at around 11.20 pm at a service station on Nepean Highway Mornington
02-05-13 at around 11.30 pm a service station at the intersection of Beach and Bridge streets Hampton
