On the 20-12-18 at around 5.00am an eighteen-year-old Geelong West man was walking near the intersection of Elizabeth and Britannia Streets when he was approached by a male offender who grabbed him and demanded cash. The victim attempted to break away from the offender and was assaulted with what is believed to be a metal torch, resulting in some minor injuries, before the offender fled. The offender was perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his thirties, about 175cm tall with a solid build and was unshaven with dark coloured whiskers and a chubby face and was wearing a dark coloured hooded-top over his head and dark pants. Geelong Criminal Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.
