On Sunday the 20-09-15 at around 4.30am a masked male offender entered a petrol station on Springvale Road in Glen Waverley armed with a large knife. The offender then squirted petrol at a service station attendant threatening to set him alight if he didn’t hand over cash. The attendant complied and the offender then ran from the store with a small amount of cash. The offender was described as being a middle-aged Caucasian wearing a high-visibility yellow windcheater and a dust mask on his face. Police described the incident as particularly concerning due to the extremely high level of threat. Box Hill detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify the offender.
