On Friday the 18-07-14 at around 4.50 am a male in his thirties entered a Convenience Store on Elizabeth Street in the Melbourne CBD and picked up a pair of scissors and threatened the shop assistant demanding cash and cigarettes. The shop assistant handed over a packet of cigarettes and the offender attempted to open the till but was unsuccessful and then fled the convenience store running along Elizabeth Street. Melbourne Embona Task Force detectives are investigating the armed robbery.
