On the 23-11-18 at about 5.45 pm a ten-year-old boy and fourteen-year-old boy were playing together at a park on Reserve Road in Melton when they were approached by three other youths. One of the three youths produced an edged weapon and made demands for the fourteen-year-old’s mobile phone before all three assaulted him and took the phone. The teenage victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries. A short time later police arrested a fourteen-year-old boy, an eleven-year-old boy and a fourteen-year-old girl, all from Melton, and all have since been charged with armed robbery, robbery and affray and bailed to appear at a children’s court.
