Police made a quick arrest after a man allegedly robbed three convenience stores in Prahran and St Kilda on the morning of the 24-07-19. It is alleged a man armed with a firearm entered a convenience store on Chapel Street in Prahran and made demands for cash just after midnight. The attendant handed over a small amount of cash and the offender fled the scene. It is also alleged the same man struck again at a convenience store on Acland Street in St Kilda about 1.20am and a short time later at a nearby service station on Barkley Street. On both occasions, the victims’ have handed over a small amount of cash. Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the man allegedly armed with an imitation firearm at the corner of Chapel Street and High Street just after 3am. A 23-year-old St Kilda man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
