On Thursday the 14th March 2013 at around 11.00 pm a gang of male assailants threatened staff at the Springvale RSL with a knife. Security staff as well as two patrons confronted the armed robbers and a struggle ensued and a nineteen-year-old male was overpowered and restrained until the police arrived who arrested him with the remainder of the gang fleeing the scene.
