On the 15-05-14 at around 3.30 pm an unknown man approached an eight-year-old girl on the school grounds of the Manningtree Road Primary School in Hawthorn . The assailant dragged the young girl into a secluded area where he verbally assaulted and kicked her before undoing the top of her uniform. The young student managed to escape from the man who then fled through the front exit of the school. He assailant was described as being Caucasian, aged in his twenties with blue eyes and short, blonde hair and was wearing black pants and a black hoodie. Detectives from the Box Hill Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are investigating the incident.
