On the 26-07-18 just before midnight a forty-four-year-old man from Springvale was fishing off the Beaumaris Yacht Club when he was approached by an unknown male. The victim continued baiting his hook when he was suddenly struck to the back of the head with a tomahawk. The often then immediately dropped the weapon and fled. The victim was taken to hospital with non life threatening head injuries. Police are treating the incident as a random and unprovoked attack and described the offender as Caucasian in appearance, around twenty years old with a slim build and was wearing a hoody.
