During the afternoon of Saturday the 29-06-13 a female in her forties was attacked by two of her neighbours, a male and a female, in her Farnsworth Street home in Castlemaine. The female victim suffered facial injuries and was treated in hospital. The two assailants were arrested at the scene and remanded in custody to appear at the Bendigo Magistrates Court on serious assault charges.

In a separate incident over the same weekend a male was assaulted in his Forrest Street home in Castlemaine by another male. The victim sustained serious head injuries and was treated in hospital
