On the 26-11-12 at around 3.30 pm a sixteen-year-old female was crossing a footbridge over the Nepean Highway in Gardenvale when a male assailant approached her from behind and grabbed her around the waist. The assailant then attempted to drag the teenage victim into bushes but she managed to fight the assailant off and flee. The assailant was described as being of Mediterranean appearance and aged between thirty and thirty five years. Moorabbin Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are investigating the incident.
