On the 20-02-18 at around 1.30 am a group of nine French backpackers were approached by a gang of armed youths under the Princes Bridge in Melbourne resulting in a melee. Police shortly after the incident arrested four males aged from fourteen to twenty years and charged them with intentionally and recklessly cause injury, theft, assault with a weapon and other assault-related offences.
