On Saturday the 23^rd March at around 2.00 am two employees, one male and one female and both aged in their late fifties, were leaving the Mt Dandenong Hotel in Olinda after closing up when they were set upon by two assailants wearing balaclavas. The elderly employees were then marched back into the hotel where they were both seriously physically assaulted sustaining head injuries with one victim being treated at the Maroondah Hospital and the other at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
