On Sunday, 28th July 2013, at around 2.00 am a twenty-seven-year-old male caught a taxi in Abbotsford and as he had no money asked to be driven to an ATM where he was robbed and physically assaulted by the driver. Later that morning the victim was found wandering on Toorak Road and conveyed to Camberwell police station and then taken to The Alfred hospital suffering from a serious head injury. The assailant was described as being aged between forty and fifty years and possibly of Middle Eastern appearance.
