On the 20-11-16 at around 4.30 pm the male offender entered a taxi at the intersection of Stephensons Road and Waverley Road in Chadstone requesting to be driven to Melbourne. A short time later the male attacked the taxi driver with a knife. The taxi driver quickly stopped the taxi and fled the vehicle having sustained minor injuries. Police quickly arrived and arrested a twenty-two-year-old male who was charged with armed robbery, intentionally and recklessly cause injury and assault with a weapon and was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court. The forty-one-year-old taxi driver was treated in hospital.
