On the 22-06-18 at around 3.30pm a male and female police officers responded to an alleged theft at a supermarket on Vaughan and Maude Streets in Shepparton. As the two police officers were leaving the scene they became involved in a verbal altercation with two males who then assaulted the police. The two assailants, a thirty-eight-year-old male and a seventeen-year-old boy, were arrested and charged with numerous assault related offences. The police officers were treated but did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.
