On the 07-03-14 a fight erupted at the St Kilda Twilight Market in O’Donnell Gardens. A nineteen-year-old male said that he was attacked by a group of drunken British backpackers and punched twice to his face and was treated in hospital requiring to his nose to be reset. Police reported several calls about violence that night with another victim allegedly being struck to the head with a bottle at about 1.45 am resulting in lacerations. Port Phillip Council and police are in discussions about how to better manage safety in the municipality of Port Phillip.
