On Monday the 06-05-13 at around 8.30 am a thirteen-year-old boy was walking along Sydney Road in Coburg when a man approached him and asked him to show him directions on the Melways in his motor vehicle. The young male victim followed the assailant to a nearby stationary motor vehicle where the assailant lunged at the young boy but he managed to flee. The assailant was described as being of Indian appearance with a bald spot running from the front to the back of his head and driving a champagne coloured Toyota four wheel drive. Moreland CIU detectives are investigating the incident.
