On Sunday the 24th November 2013 at around 11.10 pm two masked men approached a convenience store in Kilsyth and attempted to force their way in but were unsuccessful. Some five minutes later the two masked offenders entered another store also in Kilsyth carrying a knife causing the shop assistant to flee to a secured area and the assailants then fled the store. A short time later the two again attempted to rob a store in The Basin with one offender threatening the shop assistant with a knife who refused to comply with the offender’s demands and they again fled. At around 11.40 pm the two offenders attempted to enter a store in Ferntree Gully but were again refused entry and again fled into a waiting motor vehicle.
