On the 24-02-17 at around 2.30 pm an eighty-one-year-old woman was loading groceries into the boot of her car when a male approached her and grabbed the strap of her handbag causing her to fall to the ground. The offender then dragged her along the ground for several meters before fleeing with the handbag containing her house keys, mobile and other items. The elderly victim suffered minor injuries which paramedics treated at the scene. The offender was described as being Caucasian, aged in his thirties or forties and was wearing a red, blue and beige checked shirt. Ballarat CIU detectives are investigating the incident.
