A Few Facts:

The overwhelming majority of child sex abuse perpetrators are male.

The most common age of offending for men who sexually abuse children is between thirty to forty years.

In 70 to 80% of all child sex abuse cases there is a familial relationship between the child and the offender.

In 15% of occurrences the abusers are the victim’s biological father.

More than 50% of abusers are made up of boyfriends, stepfathers or other adult males in an authority role.

As a society sometimes we are not very kind to the victims, particularly the victims of intrafamilial child sexual abuse.
