A four-year-old child has been recently awarded $9,000.00 and a right to ongoing counselling after she was sexually abused by another four-year-old child at a day care centre by The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). It was alleged that the victim was hit, kicked, undressed and sexually abused and now suffers from anxiety and fears going to day care.
The victim’s mother reported the sexual abuse to police but the police did not investigate the allegations due to the young ages of the two children involved.
