On the 05-08-12 a sixteen-year-old football player attacked the twenty-two-year-old umpire during a game following an umpiring decision. The victim was punched and kneed to the face resulting in a blood nose and needed the assistance of others to pull the assailant off him. The assailant has been suspended for ten years and victim reported resigning from umpiring as a result of the incident.
