Recent research indicates that people experiencing homelessness had experienced an average of twenty-one traumatic events compared to just two for the general population. Issues relating to homelessness need to be considered when supporting victims of trauma. “Trauma-informed Care” is an understanding of how trauma impacts on someone and what that means for support workers who work and interact with people experiencing homelessness.
