On Friday the 26-04-13 at around midday a forty-two-year-old female from Reservoir was walking along the Merri Creek bike path in Fawkner when she noticed a male sitting on a park bench looking at her. The male then asked her for the time and as she went to check her watch he grabbed her and told her to take her clothes off threatening her that he had a knife. A struggle then ensued with the female victim scratching the assailant to the right side of his face and striking him with her umbrella. The assailant then pushed the female victim to the ground at which time she managed to scream and the assailant ran off. The male assailant was described as being of Middle Eastern appearance in his early forties and balding. Fawkner detectives are appealing for witnesses.
