On Saturday the 22-12-12 at around 1.30 am a twenty-year-old female answered a knock on her front door to be confronted by her former partner. The male assailant then repeatedly physically assaulted the female victim tying her feet and hands with wire before dragging her to his motor vehicle. The assailant then stabbed the victim some five times to her legs as he drove along the Murray Valley Highway threatening to slit her throat. The male assailant then lost control of his motor vehicle which tumbled down an embankment. The female victim regained consciousness some thirteen hours later and staggered to a nearby hotel which she was given assistance. A thirty-one-year-old male was later arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, intentionally cause serious injury, threats to kill, conduct likely to cause death or serious injury and was remanded in custody to face the Wodonga Magistrates’ Court in early January 2013.
