On the 01-08-12 at around 9.00 pm several Asian males walked out in front of a motor vehicle that was being driven by a female at the Burwood Shopping Centre requiring her to suddenly stop. A verbal exchange then ensued between the thirty-one-year-old male passenger and the Asian males who kicked the motor vehicle. The male then alighted from the motor vehicle and was immediately set upon by up to six male assailants and was repeatedly punched and kicked to the ground and stabbed eight times, including being stabbed to the stomach. The assailants fled and the victim was treated at the Alfred Hospital.
