On Monday the 17th June 2013 at around 7.00 pm a thirty-year-old male was walking from the Jacana Railway Station along Hartington Street when he was followed by four to five males aged in their late teenage years and of Middle Eastern appearance. The victim was on his mobile phone when the gang of males approached and surrounded him and demanded his mobile phone. The assailants then repeatedly punched the victim to his head knocking him to the ground before stealing his mobile phone and wallet. Transit police are appealing for information about the assault and robbery.
