On Saturday the 7th March 2015 at around 7.00 pm an armed robbery occurred at a gaming venue in Roxburgh Park. Two male offenders entered the venue carrying a firearm and a large edged weapon and assaulted a security guard in the foyer and then threatened patrons before stealing a quantity of cash and fleeing the premises in a white motor vehicle. The security guard sustained serious facial injuries and was treated the Northern Hospital. Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad believe that this armed robbery is linked to a series of other armed robberies committed at gaming venues in the north-western metropolitan area over the last three months.
