On Sunday the 25-08-13 at around 2.30 am some six males and two females boarded the Night Rider bus bound for Frankston and as the bus was full the group remained standing in the aisle and were being boisterous and noisy, knocking into each other and others. A twenty-six-year-old female from St Kilda complained to the bus driver asking him to remove them. One of the females from the group then approached the twenty-six-year-old and threw a drink in her face and then punched her to her face. Others from the group also became involved and the victim was dragged to the ground, punched and kicked to her body and head, rendering her unconscious. The bus driver stopped and opened the bus door and the assailants fled from the bus and ran along Swanston Street. The victim was treated at hospital. The assailants were all describe as being of African appearance.
