On Wednesday the 21-08-13 at around 9.00 pm a police officer was stabbed on the Midland Highway in Batesford. The police officer, a senior sergeant, was treated in The Alfred hospital and is in a serious but stable condition. A twenty-three-year-old male from Grovedale has since been charged and will face Melbourne Magistrate’s Court today.
